Sarmad Khoosat’s Movie Zindagi Tamasha Faces Controversy Before Release

The government of Punjab has stopped the release of Zindagi Tamasha, Sarmad Khoosat’s upcoming film and has also formed a committee to review the movie.

Zindagi Tamasha has been written by Nirmal Bano who is a fresh graduate from NCA and the movie was all set to be released on January 24, 2020. This bilingual film has been shot is Lahore and directed and co-produced by Sarmad Khoosat along with his sister Kanwal Khoosat.

Model-turned actress Eman Suleman, Samiya Mumtaz, Arif Hasan an Ali Qureshi are featured as the lead roles. A deadline of February 3, 2020 has been given to review the movie. The reservations from different segments of the society will be reviewed by the formed committee.

The Sindh Board of Films and Censor banned the movie three days before its relaxed. Despite being examined and cleared before, a notification has been issued by the the board because it may create unrest within a segment of the society.

The Central Film Censor Board has also decided to approach the Council of Islamic Ideology for critical reviewing of Zindagi Tamasha. Sarmad Khoosat has been directed to postpone the release of his film for now.
