Ramzan Moon Expected to be Sighted on Thursday in Saudia Arabia

According to Saudia Arabia’s Kingdom’s Institute of Astronomy, the moon for the sacred month of Ramzan is expected to be sighted on Thursday and the first fast to be observed in Saudi Arabia on Friday, April 24th.

The head of the institute, Sharaf Safani informed, “The moon of Ramzan is likely to be seen on Thursday evening April 23 in Saudi Arabia, therefore the first fast is expected to be on Friday.”

The meeting, led by the Chief of the Hermann General Presidency Sheik Dr Abdulrahman Al-Sadis, will be directed today. The gathering will talk about plans, courses of action and systems identified with the sacred month of Ramzan.

It is appropriate to make reference to that previous this week, the Kingdom declared that Taraweeh in Saudia Arabia during Ramzan might be performed at home as the suspension of supplications at mosques won’t be lifted until the destruction of the coronavirus, as indicated by a report in Al Riyadh.

“We ask Allah the Almighty to accept Taraweeh prayers whether held at mosques, or homes, which we think is better for people’s health. We ask Allah the Almighty to accept prayers from all of us and protect humanity from this epidemic that hit the entire world,” Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Abdul Latif Al-Sheikh stated.

In Pakistan, the lockdown has been decided by the government to be eased during Ramadan and mosques to be opened for Taraweehs, however, the SOPs for COVID-19 is expected to be followed.
