Pakistan has one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world. If you’ve been planning an adventure trip up north, there are a few things you should know before you start your journey. Because our infrastructure is still growing, you may often run into problems like lack of proper bathroom facilities or no electricity.
But if you follow this handy guide, you’re going to be prepared for any bump along the road – guaranteed!
Accessories to charge your phone and devices on the go!
1. Power Banks
All those photos and videos are going to be draining your phone battery pretty fast. Keeping a power bank with you for when you don’t have electricity or access to sockets is a life saver.
2. Car Charger
Charge on the go with a nifty car charger. Great for making sure your device is always at 100% no matter where you are!
3. Extension Cord
Often hotel rooms won’t have enough sockets for everyone in the family and all their devices. Carrying an extension cord is going to help maximize the number of devices you can charge in one go. This is especially great for people going on trips in groups or with large families!
A flashlight for when your phone’s light just doesn’t cut it.
If you’re going on an adventure trip that is in a remote area, the chances of having electricity there will be slim. A good strong flashlight can be a godsend if you’re out in the open after dark or even if you want to move around with greater visibility than your phone’s torch allows.
Hygiene products to make any bathroom feel comfortably sanitized.
You never know when you have to…go. Or what the sanitation situation will be like. Carrying everything from the very basic essentials like toilet paper and soap to more precautionary things like disinfectant spray and disposable toilet covers is going to make bathroom stops much more comfortable.
A fanny pack to carry essentials on long treks.
If you’re going to be trekking – especially if these are steep or difficult treks, carrying extra weight of backpacks and purses is going to feel like a nuisance. Snapping on a fanny pack that can carry things like your phone, wallet, and a bottle of water is going to be a lifesaver.
Sunscreen to protect from harmful sun rays on your long days outdoors.
Spending a lot of time in the sun means your skin will be exposed to all kinds of harsh UV rays. Keep a tube of sunscreen in your bag and keep reapplying every 2-3 hours to keep your skin protected from sunburns.
A raincoat to protect your clothes if you’re out in the rain.
Rain is a frequent, often unannounced guest when you’re out and about up north. Keeping a raincoat handy will mean you can protect your clothes from light to moderate rain without the need to carry umbrellas. Can’t promise this won’t soak you if you’re out when it’s pouring though!
A neck pillow for long drives when you just want to nap.
No matter where you’re going up north, the chances of having to spend long hours in a car/bus/jeep are pretty high. So in order to make those quick on-the-go naps more comfortable, snap a neck pillow along with your luggage to ensure ultimate comfort!
Dry shampoo for when it’s too cold to wash your hair or take a full shower.
Trust us, there will be days when you won’t be able to shower because of the lack of hot water availability – especially if you’re going to someplace that requires camping. A dry shampoo is a quick pick-me-up for your hair that will leave you feeling less greasy and gross and is as almost as good as a quick shower.
