Street Style Channa Chaat

Ingredients

  • 1 Onion (sliced)
  • 1 Tomato (sliced)
  • 1 Green Chilli (chopped)
  • 4 tbsp Coriander (chopped)
  • 1 Potato (cut in cubes)
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
  • 1 or ½ tsp Dhania (Coriander Seeds)
  • 1 tbsp Chaat Masala
  • 3 ½ cup Chickpeas (Channay) (soaked for at least 7 hours)
  • Papri for garnishing

Imli and Kajoor Chatni

  • ½ cup Imli Pulp
  • ½ cup Khajoor (without seed)
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Chaat Masala (optional)

Instructions

Imli and Khajoor Chutney

  • Take imli and khajoor and boil it together till they are mush
  • Put them into a blender and grind them to a smooth paste
  • Add sugar and spice and mix it well
  • Add in a little chaat masala for extra flavour and set aside

Channa Chaat

  • Soak the chickpeas overnight or at least for 7 hours beforehand
  • Boil your chickpeas until they are tender and soft
  • Take the boiled chickpeas and place them in large bowl
  • Add the chaat masala, salt and red chilli flakes and coriander seeds mix well
  • Add in the tomato, onions, chillies and potato and mix well again
  • Leave it for 5 mins to let the flavour set in
  • Now, add fresh yogurt, imli and khajoor chutney and mix again
  • Add coriander leaves and papri on top before serving and enjoy!
