Covid-19 Hospital is to Be Set Up in Karachi

Sindh has become the first province to have crossed 12,000 coronavirus cases. Consequently, the Sindh government has released PKR 1.8 billion to establish a Covi-19 hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, as announced b y CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah.

Shah said that the hospital will have 400 beds and a 100-bed ventilator facility.

He also revealed that 537 positive cases had been reported from 3,730 test in the province that day, thus pushing the total count to around 12,017 patients. Majority of these cases (432) had surfaced in Karachi with 142 cases in Malir, followed by 61 cases in East, 62 in Central, 58 in South and 51 in the West district.

Shah further informed that 11 more patients had lost their lives to the virus in the last 24 hours, which raises the death toll to 200. 9,668 patients were undergoing treatment among which 84% were in isolation at their own residences and under the supervision of doctors. The rest were admitted in isolation centres and different hospitals.

He also gave some positive news that an additional 68 people had recovered from the Covid-19. This raised the recovering patients number to 2,149, which accounts for around 18% of all the detected cases.

the CM then talked about the repatriation flights for Pakistanis who were stranded abroad and said that so far 2,951 passengers have arrived and 545 of them had tested positive.
