Ertugrul’s Doppelganger Spotted in Karachi!

The Turkish TV series Dirilis : Ertugrul recently became popular in Pakistan. The show has now brought to light a Pakistani doppleganger of the serial’s male lead: Ertugrul.

Mustafa Hanif is a YouTuber and has uncanny resemblance with the show’s hero and can easily be called the Pakistani Ertugrul.

In an online interview, Hanif said, ” My name is Mustafa and many people in my office had watched Diriliş: Ertuğrul before it even came into Pakistan or started airing on PTV. I was often told that I resemble the leading character of the serial but I never paid much heed to it. Then when my own family started watching the show and said the same, I watched it too and was baffled.”

Before his newfound Ertugrul fame, Hanif used to promote tourism on is YouTube channel. He has a degree in International Relations and works at a private company.

Now Mustafa Hanif has started uploading reviews of the show. He also uploaded a video of him horse-riding and donning the Ertugrul outfit on his social media account – this received much praise from the followers.

“A few days back I went to the market without wearing a facemask, a few people recognised me and started talking to me”, he said.

He also added, “Several disputes on the personal lives of the cast of dramas often emerge on social media, but we should view their personal lives differently from their roles.”
