Pakistan’s COVID-19 Relief Program “Ehsaas Emergency Cash” Begins From Today
Pakistan’s biggest fund program, the “Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program” is set to launch its reach to the needy families affected by the lockdown amidst the Coronvirus pandemic from today.
The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Sania Nishtar, in a press media release said that under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program, cash would be rolled out to the needy families who rely on daily wages and are suffering due to the ongoing economic crisis from COVID-19.
According to media reports, the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme has an approved budget of Rs. 144 billion that will aid around 12 million families by providing them approximately Rs. 12,000 per family.
Pakistan has around 2 million poverty-stricken families, and more than 80 million individuals are adversely affected by the falling economic conditions and this fund program hopes to alleviate the struggle to make ends meet.
