According to a New Mayan Calendar Interpretation, the World Ending on June 21st 2020

In 2012 when the Mayan calendar reading ended on December 21st 2012, it was interpreted as the Mayan’s predicting the end of the world. This sent many conspiracy theorists to form various explanations, and even a movie was released by the name 2012 that showed the end of the world.

According to a twitter conspiracy theory account, the Mayan calendar reading was incorrectly read and the end of the world was originally to happen in 2020 instead of 2012.

A Scientist named Paolo Tagalogun, in a series of tweets, which are now deleted, said that if we follow the “Julian Calendar” technically we are living in the year 2012.

This has set the internet on a sharing frenzy with many people already speculating 2020 to be the cursed year with the ongoing pandemic, political unrests, earthquakes and locusts swarms, this new interpretation comes as a new set of panic and whereas many have lauded at the predication sharing memes and funny tweets.

According to a news source, Tagaloguin tweeted, “Following the Julian Calendar, we are technically in 2012 … The number of days lost in a year due to the shift into Gregorian Calendar is 11 days … For 268 years using the Gregorian Calendar (1752-2020) times 11 days = 2,948 days. 2,948 days / 365 days (per year) = 8 years,”

From this theory, the end of the world..or rather the calendar, falls on 21st of June i.e next week.
