Will Smith’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s Reboot in the Works

Will Smith and Morgan Cooper, film director, are working together to adapt Will Smith’s famous NBC comedy The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

But this time, according to US reports, the story of the streetwise teen who moves in with his upper-class uncle and aunt isn’t going to be a comedy.

The new edition will be based on a YouTube viral trailer that has reimagined the show as a hard hit thriller. Smith is working on the series with Morgan Cooper, who created the alternative trailer last year.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Smith’s Westbrook Studios will do it with Universal TV, while Netflix, HBO Max and Peacock are amongst the platforms bidding to stream it.

Original creators Andy and Susan Borowitz, as well as Smith and original executive producers Quincy Jones and Benny Medina, will serve as executive producers.
