Taking to Twitter, Fawaz Chaudhry stated “a memorandum has been signed between Pakistan Sports Body and Pakistan Science Foundation after which Esports in Pakistan will achieve the status of regular sports. If you are interested in video games, get ready as new opportunities are waiting for you.”

Esports is recognized as an official sport in many countries like China, Denmark, Germany, South Korea to name a few. In 2020, the eSports market was valued at approximately 950 million U.S. dollars and is expected to reach global market revenue of almost 1.6 billion U.S. dollars by 2023.
