Popular Pakistani singer Asim Azhar makes his bollywood debut with a new track, Humraah, for the film Malang.
This is Azhar’s very first song in Bollywood, with the film that’s starring Aitya Roy and Disha Patani as leading roles.
Asim Azhar took to instagram to share the song’s teaser. He wrote, ” Tomorrow, my first song for Bollywood. #humraah #malang.”
This track comes out at a time when cultural collaborations have been suspended between the two nations. As such, this track release is a pleasant surprise and Azhar’s version of the song is coming out long after the film’s release. The song was first released in Sachet Tandon’s voice.
Asim Azhar had originally written the song but die to the tension between the countries, he wasn’t able to be a part of the film. However, he was given due credit on the film’s poster and was made officially a part of the music in the film.
Just a little time ago, Asim’s song “Jo Tu Na Mila” crossed 100 million views on YouTube – a feat very few local artists have achieved. He tweeted, “It gives me immense honour to become the youngest and only the 4th Pakistani artist (after Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sahab, Atif Aslam and Momina Mustehsan) to have 2 or more songs in the 100 million club. Thank you. I love you guys.”
