Imran Khan Declared “Man of the Year” by The Muslim 500.
The Muslim 500, a Jordan based publication, has listed the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan as the ‘Man of the Year’ for 2020.
The Muslim 500 is a yearly publication first published in 2009 which ranks among the world’s most influential Muslims. The paper is published in Amman , Jordan, by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre.
In the publication, the magazine wrote for Imran Khan that if in 1992, the publication was in print, Imran Khan would have been named the Muslim of the Year then after his brilliant achievement in cricket that resulted in Pakistan winning the 1992 Cricket World Cup.
The editor further wrote, “I also was touched when Khan launched a successful fundraising campaign to establish a hospital devoted to both the care of victims of cancer as well as research. This was his magnificent response to the loss of his mother to cancer in 1985 and given Imran Khan’s extraordinary popularity with Pakistanis both at home as well as among a large number of Pakistani ex-pats along with his own, no doubt, generous personal contribution.”
Moreover, the Muslim 500 selected Rashida Talib, American Democratic Congresswoman, as the Woman of the Year 2020. She is the first Palestinian American woman to be elected to the American Congress as a member of the House of Representatives and the first Muslim woman.
