International Flights to Stay Suspended till the 31st of May in Pakistan

The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan issued a notice that stated that all the international flights are to stay suspended till the 31st of May as a measure in mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

On Friday, a representative of the CAA in a press release disclosed the announcement and stated, “As per the government decision, the suspension of international flight operations, as effected earlier, has been extended up to Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 2359 hours PST. Remaining provisions as applicable to the suspension of international flights, reflected in the previous orders, would remain unchanged.”

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on March 21st had suspended international flights when coronavirus was first detected in Pakistan and the decision was made to stay implemented till two weeks.

However, with the rapid increase in the infected cases, the flights all over the globe were postponed indefinitely with some special flights being allowed to help the stranded Pakistanis.
