Mango Exports in Pakistan Face a Huge Decline
Mango exports of Pakistan due to the ongoing novel pandemic has taken a huge hit as exporters are faced with a huge hit to mango exports which deems to the most profitable and high-demand fruit to be exported.
The economy of the globe continues to suffer as traders are left with no option but to suspend their imports and exports as borders are being closed and flights and freight, and shipping closes to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
It is expected that Pakistan’s mango exports are to decline by 35% to 40% this year. Waheed Ahmed, the President of Pakistan Fruits Exporters Association told sources that the export of mangoes is not suspected to cross 80,000 metric tons whereas last year in 2019, around 130,000 metric tons of mangoes were exported.
The top countries where Pakistan exports its traditional and famous mangoes are the US, Japan, Australia and various Middle Eastern and European countries.
