Nickelodeon’s Legends of the Hidden Temple is Coming Back!
90’s kids, rejoice! Our favourite game show set in a Mayan-like Temple Setting, “Legends of the Hidden Temple” is getting a reboot in 2020.
If you’re a 90s kids who grew up watching the good old TV shows on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeons, you must be familiar with the game show that had us glued to the TV screen and rooting for your favourite teams completing obstacles in an Indiana Jones-isque obstacles and temples.
Whether they were Red Jaguars, the Blue Barracudas, the Green Monkeys, the Orange Iguanas, the Purple Parrots, or the Silver Snakes, you must have imagined yourself as being a participant!
And of course, who can forget the host Kirk and the eerie voice of the Rock, Olmec who’s voice still haunts us.
Now, thanks to, Quibi, an upcoming American short-form mobile video platform headquartered in Los Angeles, our favourite game show is being rebooted but with one major change!
The contestants will now be adults instead of pre-teens and teenagers and will be now targeted toward adults and instead a set, the show will set in a jungle and have bigger prizes. The classic elements of the original show like the Moat Crossing, Olmec and Temple Run challenges will, however, remain the same.
In a statement on The Wrap, the producer Scott Stone said, “Bringing back Legends for Quibi is a dream come true. I have been so lucky to be part of this defining millennial show, and now there is a defining millennial platform to go with it. I couldn’t be more excited.”
The exact release dates are not confirmed as of yet, however, Quibi comes out on April 4th so we’re assuming the release date for the show lies somewhere near that.
