Pakistan International Airline (PIA) to Lower Domestic Flight Rates

Pakistan International Airline (PIA) announced that domestic flight rates will be lowered from Monday.

According to the PIA, after consultation with the government, all airlines had agreed to charge the passengers an equal sum as regards tickets. The object of setting domestic flight fares was to ensure that overcharges were avoided.

According to a spokesperson for PIA, the fares for one way ticket will be fixed at Rs. 12,000 inclusive of all taxes for various destinations that include, Islamabad, nearby other cities. Moreover, the one-way ticket of Lahore/Islamabad bound flight from Karachi will be fixed at Rs. 22,826 and for a Peshawar-bound flight from Karachi, the fare will be fixed at Rs. 22,108 for the one-way ticket. Whereas, the one-way ticket price will be fixed at Rs. 14,448 for Quetta-bound flight from Karachi or Islamabad or Lahore-bound flights from Quetta.

The national carrier had announced on May 17 after resuming flights after the lockdown, all the domestic airlines operating in Pakistan will charge equivalent fares.
