Running Late for Iftar? Check Out These Quick & Easy Last-Minute Iftar Ideas for Ramadan

Hello and Ramadan Kareem to you! Looks like you’re looking for ways to make quick and easy preps for iftar this year. After all, Ramadan is more about remembering God and relating with hungry than preparing glamorous iftar meals. And no, we do get that sometimes you want to have a luxurious iftar table, but sometimes you might want to keep it simple too. Perhaps when you’re running late?

Jhat-Pat Fruit Chaat

You don’t always have to make an elaborate fruit chaat. Sometimes, you can just use a handful of fruits and prepare a simple, but juicy, fruit chaat as well!

Ingredients:

  1. Bananas
  2. Apples
  3. Guava
  4. Orange juice

Directions:

Simply cut up your fruits and mix them up in a large bowl. Add a little orange juice to enhance the taste and make it more juicy.

Aaloo k Pakoray

It’s a little hard to imagine your iftar table without pakoray. So when time is running out, go for aaloo k pakoray! They’re easy to make, and simply lovely to eat.

Ingredients:

  1. Potatoes
  2. Basin
  3. Salt
  4. Red Chili Powder
  5. Cooking Oil

Directions:

First make the batter with Basin, salt (as per your taste) and chili powder (depending on how spicy you want it to be). Then slice up the potatoes in the shape of chips. Then dip the slices into the batter. Coat each slice well with the batter, and then add it to heated oil one by one.

Mix Chaat

When we say Mix Chaat, we literally mean MIX CHAAT! Take out everything you’ve in your kitchen and fridge that you think can go in your chaat. Some key items could be your leftover channa, nimco, paapri, the extra potatoes from your Aaloo Pakoras, and so on!

Ingredients:

  1. Yogurt
  2. Nimco
  3. Paaapri
  4. Potatoes
  5. Chaat Masala
  6. Milk
  7. Leftover Channa

Directions:

Cut the potatoes in small chunks. Mix them up with the leftover channa (leftover) and add nimco to the mix. Add yogurt and some milk to the mixture, and keep the consistency medium thin. Then add some chaat masala, and finish with paapri on top!

Sweet Dumplings

Easy to make, sweet dumplings are just a treat to the mouth. With very little effort, you get a fabulous-tasting dish!

Ingredients:

  1. Sugar
  2. Maida
  3. Baking Soda
  4. Water
  5. Cooking Oil

Directions:

Mix all the ingredients and make a medium-dense batter. Then make small dumplings out of the batter and deep fry!

Sharbat Varieties

After breaking the fast, everyone needs a rush of hydration to quench the thirst and hydrate the body! Here are some easy sharbats that you can prepare in seconds!

  1. Laal sharbat with Roohafza or Jam e Shirin
  2. Tang
  3. Limo Pani

Khajoor

Khajoor or dates is one item that you should stock up for the entire Ramadan. Because its with khajoors that you truly get the feel of Ramadan! So that’s one item on the iftar table that you do’t have to prepare but must have!
