Sindh: Schools To Give 20% Concession on Tuition Fees for April and May

The Sindh Directorate of Private Institutions issued a notice to all private schools to reduce the school fees by at least 20% for the month of April and May due to the ongoing pandemic crisis.

The order has been taken place by the provincial government to provide relief to the parents who have been affected by the lockdown and have provided complaint numbers for the parents if they come across the schools defying the orders.  The telephone numbers for the complaint cell are 021-99217490, 0333-3243148 and 0333-7036425.

The Chief of the All Pakistan Private Schools Association, Kashif Mirza, however, argued against and vowed to bring the petition to the court stating that they were already suffering losses due to closure of the educational institutes till the 31st of May and have demanded the withdrawal of the order.

The Sindh Minister for Education and Labour, Saeed Ghani, also admitted the provisional government failed to take into account the repercussions the management of private schools will have before making the decision to order a reduction in the fees.
