TikTok Files a Lawsuit Against the Trump’s Government

The famous Chinese video making app, TikTok, on Monday had filed a lawsuit that challenges the crackdown being taken by the US government.

The President of American, Donald Trump as stated and accuses that the Chinese owned video platform is a threat to the national security of the United States of America and is used by China for monitoring federal staff and government employees to spy and create blackmail directories and corporate surveillance.

TikTok has refuted the statement and said that it never provides the Chinese government with user data and Beijing blasted the persecution of Trump as a political one.

In blogpost, TikTok stated, “Today we are filing a complaint in federal court challenging the administration’s efforts to ban TikTok in the US, “We believe the administration ignored our extensive efforts to address its concerns, which we conducted fully and in good faith even as we disagreed with the concerns themselves.”

TikTok argued in the lawsuit that Trump’s order was a misuse of International Emergency Economic Powers Act because the platform on which users share often playful short-form videos is not “an unusual and extraordinary threat.”
