Walt Disney Drops the Word ‘Fox’ from 20th Century Fox’s Name

The Walt Disney Company has officially dropped the name Fox from 20th Century Fox’s Name after two years of acquiring the company. The Walt Disney Company has now decided to discontinue using the name “Fox” from 20th Century Fox’s Name.

20th Century Fox, now known as 21st Century Fox was acquired by Disney by a $71bn deal 2 years ago.

After 85 years as one of the most famous names in Hollywood and great movies produced under its name, 20th Century Fox will now be called 20th Century Studios and 21st Century Fox, another asset acquired by the Disney Company will be renamed Searchlight Pictures and Fox would be removed in the logo.

This change was dubbed as a way to show Disney authoritative move and changes to distance the former 20th Century Fox owner, Rupert Murdoch.
