Speaking of welcoming the new baby; don’t you think that your newborn angel deserves an adorable baby shower? Well, we think so too!
That’s why we’ve prepared this article for you. Here you’ll find everything you need to know to plan the most adorbz baby shower for the upcoming new family member!
So without further ado, let’s get started, shall we?
Prepare a Checklist
A baby shower isn’t just any party – it’s the party to welcome your upcoming baby. Naturally, you’ll want it to be perfect.
So to make sure everything is well planned out, you need to make a checklist in advance. This will help you stay ahead of your schedule, thus facilitate you in planning a perfect bridal shower.
Things you may want to include in your checklist are party decorations, itinerary, party theme, invites, gifts, cake, etc. Perhaps you should get a diary or a notepad to carry around. We know that you can write on phones too, but a physical diary would be more effective in pushing you to get your chores done!
Decide Your Theme!
A baby shower without a theme is no baby shower at all, says everyone. So you whatever you do, make sure you’ve a strong theme for the party!
There are several things you’ll have to consider when you’re thinking of a theme. For example, the color of the party, the design of the cake, what kind of food/snacks/desserts will you be serving, what games are we planning, and so much more!
While planning your baby shower and deciding a theme, you’ll also want to consider the sex of the baby. That will also help you shortlist the color for the event.
Here are some ideas for you to get started – if it’s a boy, a simple blue-colored theme, a cars-based theme, a superman theme, or a mustache-based theme! And if it’s a girl, a simple pink-colored theme, a barbie theme, a wonder woman theme, a unicorn theme, etc.
Make a Guest List & Choose Invitation Design
Well, you obviously need people to attend your baby shower and they aren’t gonna come without an invitation, are they?
So get started on your guest list ASAP to make sure that you don’t miss out on anyone important. Once you’ve that ready, you want to send out the invitation at least 1-2 weeks in advance.
But, hey! First you need to choose an invitation design. Again, this depends on your party’s theme. It could have a vintage design, something floral and pink, something simpler with just a little embossed pattern and text, or anything you want! You can even find some pre-made invitations at the market or online retail!
Choose Your Party Decorations!
Well, this baby shower is not just going to be a random everyday hangout. You need to think this one through!
You need a cake, props, party decorations. and so many other things!
Let’s start with the cake – it has to be simply amazing! If you ask us, we’d suggest you go with nothing lesser than a two-tiered cake! And you want this cake to be cute. Something with gorgeous frosting and adorable design – perhaps in the shape of a baby cradle or pram!
Figure this bit out sooner than later and place your order at a fine bakery; because you don’t want any last-minute problems with the cake!
Now let’s move on to the party props – yes, we are talking about all those crafty mustaches, glasses, crowns, ties that you see people holding up in pictures. You don’t have to spend too much time on this bit though. Just crosscheck how big your guest list is and arrange the props accordingly. You can either make them yourselves or just buy the props.
And finally, the party decorations! Well, this is pretty much going to be the make or break element of your party. Go wild and your party will be a hit, or don’t do enough and suffer the loss of a dull and dead gathering!
The decorations include the stage, the baby shower table, the balloons, the napkins, the banners, and everything else used to embellish the party! We suggest you go above and beyond the ordinary and try to do some unique decorations. For example, filling champagne glasses with colorful candies would be a wonderful decoration idea that really adds a hint of uniqueness and cuteness to an otherwise simple baby shower.
Prepare Some Favors for Your Guests
Your friends and family are going to make time to attend your baby shower. While they are putting in the effort to become a part of this special occasion in your life, you should also do something to show them that you appreciate their efforts.
And what better way to do this than to give them all some very cute favor boxes?
There are tons of ideas you can take some inspo from. Your baby shower favors can be something simple like gift bag of candy, a teddy bear, a vase or simpler, just dress up store bought favor boxes with creative packaging!
What Baby Shower Games Will You Play?
Baby showers are all about welcoming the upcoming munchkin and having fun. So, you need turn on your game if you want this party to be fun.
Games like What’s Your Favorite Mom-to-Be Memory, Baby Shower Charades or Name That Celebrity Baby can be an excellent icebreaker. It’s a great way to engage people and get them to really have fun.
If you’re not up for anything complicated, then you could even go for simpler games like musical chair, Chinese whispers, etc.
Don’t Forget the Food and Drinks!
Needless to say, the food and drinks have to be excellent. Your guests, and even you, wouldn’t enjoy a party with no good food.
Choose the kind of food you want to serve – Desi, Pan Asian, Lebanese, Italian, or something else. Once you’ve got that narrowed down, you could prepare the food yourself or hire a caterer to take up the responsibility for you!
And you can’t possibly forget to serve drinks! Identify what kind of drinks your guests will enjoy – soda, coffee, tea, or all; and then arrange it accordingly.
